From the Director:

Our school has five preschool programs. Four are half day programs and one is a full day. Our full day is predominantly teacher-led while our half days are free play with some structure.

Other subjects taught Students attend an art class once a week, a gym class once a week and library twice a week. These classes are held outside of their classroom.

Our school incorporates social emotional learning standards into the curriculum. Teacher would discuss choices, feelings and ways to deal with certain feelings.

MISSION: To accomplish our missions, Jose de Diego Community Academy commits to involve all school personnel, students, parents and members of the global community as partners in a continuous process of reading, mathematics and technological improvement. We will maintain an environment of excellence, responsibility and diversity which fosters intellectual, social and technological skills. We will accomplish this through professional development, structured learning experience and parental support. We must also attend affectively and effectively to the social, emotional and physical needs of each and every child.

Home-School Connection: From the Director

Our preschool program communicates with the parents in a number of ways. In the beginning of the school year, we have an open house. We also hold parent teacher conferences, send home preschool newsletters, have parent information boards outside the classrooms and continually communicate with the parents through phone calls, notes and conferences. Parents are always welcome and encouraged to volunteer and visit the classroom.
