Philosophy & Approach

School Philosophy

General Approach to Learning: Play-Based, Teacher-Led

From the Director:

We try to touch on every learning style in each lesson so that every child is engaged and learning in a way to benefits them best.

Quality of Teaching

Individualized Teaching: From the Director

Our class ratios are small in order to give the teachers the opportunity to learn the different skill levels of all their students. Students that are "excelling" are give the chance to excell and are challenged. The children that are "behind" are given more one on one time with their teacher. We try to embrace all the children's different unique qualities and hope that they flourish and grow under our care.

Day in the Life

General School Mission

We are committed to provide our students with a child-centered, faith-based, academically driven program in a nurturing, playful environment.

Children learn best in a ‘play-oriented’environment. Our learning environment is very ‘child friendly ‘with lots of manipulatives, colorful images to look at, things to explore, to do and make. Our program offers a wide variety of activities: group lessons, stories, self-guided play, music & movement, arts enrichment, crafts and cooking. Our goal is to help guide the child into the world with a sense of respect for self, others, God and to develop a life-long love of learning.

A Typical Day

2&3 yr. old class -
This class will focus on socialization and beginning language arts skills. Learning to share and interact with others is foundational to a child’s development and future success. Cooperation, personal boundaries and conflict resolution are key skills to teach at this age. Letter, shape, and number recognition are also taught using a variety of teaching methods.

Pre-K 4&5 yr. old class -
This class will emphasize phonemic awareness, pre- spelling, handwriting and number value concepts. Recognizing and matching a sound with a letter, as well as, a quantity with a number are central concepts. Continued guidance with conflict resolution and acceptable social interaction are key at this stage of development.

Character & Bible Education-
Each month we will highlight one character trait as well as teach two Bible Stories. Character Education and Bible Education are taught to instill proper moral behavior, ultimately developing a sense of community and moral responsibility within the child.
