Summit Schools’ Preschool Program offers a balanced and structured part-time school experience for children ages three through five years. The children take part in developmentally appropriate activities including beginning reading and math skills, as well as science, social skills, and technology. A multi-sensory, child-centered approach is used so children have opportunities to learn auditorally, visually, and through hands-on projects and activities. Play and social interactions are also an integral part of the Preschool Program and are practiced during center time and snack time. Responsibility is taught through the daily assignment of classroom jobs. Most important of all, our preschoolers absolutely love coming to school and learning.

Philosophy & Approach

Day in the Life

General School Mission

"We believe that American's future is based on today's educational commitments and that students can achieve their potential when:
There is a focus on individual needs so students can learn in different ways and progress at different rates in small classes that foster intellectual curiosity, reasoning skills and creativity.
The parents are involved with the school and in the development of their child's learning plan.
There is an atmosphere of intellectual excitement and students are surrounded by staff and peers who are positive role models.
High academic expectations and a nurturing environment help students to become confident, independent learners who exhibit a healthy self-esteem.
Character development, community service, leadership skills and the ability to work with others is emphasized and learning becomes a lifelong process.
Diversity and pluralism are recognized as strengths and there is a positive understanding of and respect for people and experiences of diverse cultures. "
