"We believe that American's future is based on today's educational commitments and that students can achieve their potential when:
There is a focus on individual needs so students can learn in different ways and progress at different rates in small classes that foster intellectual curiosity, reasoning skills and creativity.
The parents are involved with the school and in the development of their child's learning plan.
There is an atmosphere of intellectual excitement and students are surrounded by staff and peers who are positive role models.
High academic expectations and a nurturing environment help students to become confident, independent learners who exhibit a healthy self-esteem.
Character development, community service, leadership skills and the ability to work with others is emphasized and learning becomes a lifelong process.
Diversity and pluralism are recognized as strengths and there is a positive understanding of and respect for people and experiences of diverse cultures. "
