Philosophy & Approach

Day in the Life

General School Mission

"As a CHRISTian preschool, it is our desire to see each child
develop into the person God wants them to be. God's word
says in Deuteronomy 6:7, that children should be learning
from the time they get up to the time they go to sleep. The
philosophy of Mililani Baptist Preschool is
learning through play. It is here that the children will
be introduced to a social environment, learn about God and
Jesus, as well as other men and women of the Bible, they will
be encouraged to try their best in all their activities and
valued as wonderful, special and unique. In Psalms
139:14, God's word says, “I will praise You,
for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.”
At MBP, we believe that young children learn best when they
are actively participating in activities that they choose and
not activities that are chosen for them. In short, they are in
charge, not adults, so they can take risks without the fear of
failure; which builds their sense of confidence and
competence. We also believe that learning through play
provides occasions for children to socialize with each other
as well as learn to share, express feelings, solve their own
problems, and negotiate for an item they may want to play
with. It also allows them to have opportunities to have
imaginary play with objects, such as turning a box into a cash
register, or a treasure chest, and encourages language and
verbal expression. Play also allows the child to build their
physical strengths by running, hopping, skipping, and jumping. "
