From the Director:

As much as we would love to brag, we do not want to give everything to the other business who call themselves preschools. It is best to come in and see the classroom, school and individual child's portfolios and report cards to view the proof!

Quality of Teaching

Individualized Teaching: From the Director

We value families input at the start of the program and throughout the process of meeting each child's individual learning styles and personalities. We have created behavior plans, changed the environment, brought in special help or suggested outside help as well.
We do not have a hard and fast rule, since we are a small school we can work with families closely on a daily basis and communicate in writing always!

Home-School Connection

Home-School Connection: From the Director

Ewa Plains is a community school. Just look at our website and see our Hawaii State Sentor and Represenative attend our functions. Our families are proud contributors to our community and school.

Our goal is for families to connect together making a net of love and strength streched around the children! Relationships, communication, teamwork and giving back are values that families live by.

Parents are fully envovled in the goals and progress reporting of their child. The curriculum is created around the children individual needs.

Separation is Handled through:

  • Home visits by teachers
  • Pre-entry meetings with parents at school
  • Small group sessions
  • Extra staff dedicated to handle separation
  • Abbreviated schedule at start of school year

Handling Separation: From the Director

Every child and family is unique, with that in mind we do not have a set policy. For example, some families must work and cannot do a half day tranisition for the first three weeks, if it is recommended. In that case we would have extra staff in the room to help with the transition from home to school.
We are extremely flexiable and encourage phone calls to the school throughout the day, especially if the child is feeling a loss in seperation.
