Our teachers send home a folder with a daily report everyday. We provide parents with a monthly calendar and weekly newsletter. There is also a monthly school newsletter. We also communicate through e-mail. We have Progress Reports twice a year and offer conferences as needed. At the beginning of the year, we have a Parent Orientation and a Teacher Meet/Greet for the children.

Parents Say They are Encouraged to:

  • Hold social events at the school to build community
  • Are able to visit the school anytime we want
  • Volunteer in the classroom
  • Receive newsletters

Modes of Communication

  • Notes
  • Phone Calls
  • Voice Mail
  • Email
  • Special Meetings
  • Drop-Off
  • Pick-Up
  • Regular newsletter/printed updates circulated to the whole school

Separation

Separation is Handled through:

  • Pre-entry meetings with parents at school
  • Small group sessions
  • Extra staff dedicated to handle separation

Handling Separation: From the Director

We take the children out of the cars in morning carpool. When a child is upset, we try to have their teacher/assistant help them from the car, hold them, talk with them and give them lots of love. We welcome parents to call and check on their child. We also try to call them and let them know their child is doing well and having a good day. If a child doesn't settle in, we will call the parents and let them know.
