Day in the Life

General School Mission

Canterbury School of Florida educates and nurtures the whole child in mind, body and spirit in preparation for college and an honorable life as a responsible steward of our world.

A Typical Day

Students on Canterbury's Hough Campus (PK3 - Grade 4) start the day with a Flag ceremony. Parents are welcome and encouraged to stay for this. It starts with the pledge of allegiance and a school song or prayer, followed by announcements by the children to celebrate their accomplishments (everything from completing 2,000 math problems on www.IXL.com to losing a tooth). Flag ends with the students singing the Honor Code: "As a member of the Canterbury family, I pledge to uphold my personal integrity, promote equality and be respectful, and considerate. I will be honest and sincere, facing each day with a positive attitude."

Home-School Connection

Home-School Connection: From the Director

Parents are in constant communication with faculty and staff via the Parent Portals on the school's website. Faculty also frequently email parents with photos and anecdotes from the student's day.
