"The Early Childhood Program at Hillel is designed to provide a warm, contemporary Jewish environment that nurtures the development of the individual child. Our "hands-on" approach to learning helps foster the development of young children. Our philosophy that children "learn by doing" is supported by our classrooms' physical environment.
We strive to foster positive self-image and a love for learning using "developmentally appropriate practices". Such practices support learning intellectually challenging material without memorization or frustration. This curriculum helps children develop emotionally, socially, physically, intellectually and spiritually because it is built with children and their developmental and intellectual milestones in mind.
The Hillel pre-school recognizes the importance of discovery and play as important vehicles through which children learn and grow intellectually. We are committed to recognizing all of our students learning styles and social and emotional patterns of behavior. An important goal is to stimulate each child's imagination, curiosity and creativity through art, language, dramatic play, science, blocks, house corner, table toys, cooking, music, movement and outdoor play.
