Philosophy & Approach

School Philosophy

General Approach to Learning: Play-Based, Montessori

From the Director:

ABC Montessori Academy is a school dedicated to providing an excellent, well-rounded education. Dr. Maria Montessori developed a hands-on method of learning with the freedom of movement and choice at the turn of the century. She divided the studies into four principle areas of learning: Practical Life, Sensorial, Language, and Mathematics. We, at ABC Montessori Academy, continue to honor Dr. Maria Montessori's method with the young minds we nurture. Our vision is to establish an atmosphere that will consistently challenge, nurture, inspire and support each child's individual growth and development within an effective, safe, enriched and welcoming learning community. We embrace the Montessori principles of self-respect, respect for others, and respect for the environment.

Quality of Teaching

Individualized Teaching: From the Director

Teachers are constantly striving for one-on-one attention with each child. Extra planning for those who exhibit the need for specialized attention is a top priority. We want to make sure that all students needs are addressed in a warm and loving manner and that our classrooms are fluidly functioning environments for the young minds within them.
