Day in the Life

General School Mission

Mr. Winters strives to prepare children to be independent, self-motivated and compassionate adults. We use positive reinforcement and honesty, even with our criticism. We focus on treating children like real people.

Children are encouraged to share their feelings and thoughts everyday. P Street Kids' children are treated with respect and equality. Children learn trust, gain confidence, and courage as they demonstrate their special talents.

A Typical Day

Circle Time, Writing, Math, Phonics, Art, and Reading everyday.
Circle Time begins our day everyday. This is a time for children to sing songs, practice foreign language skills, oral, math and phonics skills. We also focus on behavioral skills to enhance our children's knowledge of dealing with various activities, conflicts, and analytical problems.

We use a variety of techniques to make sure our children master the skills needed to read and write. The children use phonics to learn the proper pronunciation and association of letters and objects.
From the beginning, the Arts have always been fundamental to the school's philosophy. Drama, visual arts, literature and other forms of art are at the core of the curriculum. The Arts stimulate the children's creative drive and are essential to forming connections with other disciplines.
