"Almost Home has been selected as the name for our centers so as to present an environment that has the nurturing and comforting care that is given at home, but has it's roots in a firm child centered and developmentally appropriate curriculum. The curriculum is carried out in progressive and creative ways. We believe that the combination of these ingredients provides children with all of the essential tools they require in developing themselves as healthy and happy individuals.
Almost Home believes that all children and their parents must feel completely safe and secure when they cannot be together. Almost Home provides children with the warmth, safety, and security of home while at the same time provides a child centered approach that is rich with intellectual and social opportunities for all children. It is clear that all children have different needs for learning and loving, and we strive to create an atmosphere that fosters individuality while at the same time helps children to learn and share within a group. All children have their own learning and living styles. Almost Home is committed to meeting each child's individual needs by working within our curriculum to help each child discover their most positive strategies for living and learning. Children require time and space to grow and develop. We make sure that each day we provide opportunities for this growth to occur in only positive ways. We put our emphasis on the process of learning rather than on the final product. Children learn by doing, by active participation in whatever they are working on. We strongly encourage parental involvement and recognize that when home and school work together the child will reap the benefits from the shared caring of both parents and teachers.
