Handling Separation: From the Director

Separation anxiety is normal for children, especially in the early years or first experiences with school. It is important that the parent not linger, but express their love with a big hug and kiss, telling their child when they will be back, whether it is after lunch, nap time, etc. Leaving consistently there after will help with routine. Teachers will also help with lots of hugs, compassion, patience and stimulating children in activities that are fun and engaging. All of these aspect combined will make for a transition that could last only a couple days to a couple weeks, either way we will be there to support both the child and parent in this always heart pulling transition.
