A Typical Day

"Children ages 12-18 months 6:00a.m. Greeting toddlers and parents (child-directed activities) 7:00 Breakfast (continuation of morning child-directed activities.) 7:30 Care Routines Diapering Hand-washing 8:00 Circle time activity Toddlers are not required to participate, alternative activities will be available 8:30 Snack/Care Routines 9:00 Interest Centers Teacher-directed activity (fine motor and/or language) -Dramatic Play Center - props reflect theme/lesson plans -Block Center contains materials for independent play -Creativity & Art Center has available self-directed art materials as well as predetermined art projects -Language & Circle Time Center - books will be available for the children to explore on their own. There will also be teacher-directed activities that may occur during the week. 9:30 Outdoor Classroom Children are encouraged to create and play games with their peers. Teacher directed activities as well as self-directed games are gross motor oriented. 10:15 Interest Centers 11:00 Story Time 11:15 Lunch/ Care Routines 12:00p.m. Rest Time Teacher-directed, quiet activities are available for toddlers who are awake 2:00 Care Routines Child-directed activities-manipulatives 2:30 Afternoon Snack 3:00 Outdoor Classroom (gross motor oriented) 3:45 Music Time/Care Routines Teacher-directed activities (music and movement) 4:15 Interest Centers 5:00 Table Top Games/Care Routines 5:30 Child-directed activities at interest centers Teacher-directed activities (language and fine motor) Care Routines 6:30 Greeting parents/departure with toddlers.
