Boulder County Day's preschool is an accredited Association of Colorado Independent Schools program serving children ages three to five years and their families.

We welcome students into inviting classrooms and outdoor spaces that solicit children’s active participation in the selection of activities and materials designed to enhance social, emotional, intellectual, and physical growth.

The preschool classrooms contain numerous learning centers and materials which support curriculum and encourage exploration.

Classrooms contain a variety of reading and writing materials that facilitate language awareness, phonetics, sound recognition, vocabulary development, and emergent reading and writing skills. The classrooms also feature hands-on materials such as blocks, dramatic play props, dress-up clothing, as well as art and craft materials which support social, emotional, and cognitive growth.

Boulder Country Day promotes strong family – school connections. Parents are always welcome and many are active participants in classroom activities, field trips and other events.

Children also participate in other "specials” classes. These classes are scheduled on a weekly basis and include: movement, music, music/movement (combo class), science lab, computer lab, and library. These classes are all included in the cost of our program.

From the Director:

Boulder Country Day's approach to learning focuses on meeting the needs of each individual child. Teachers are inspired by a variety of philosophies and approaches to education and tailor their teaching tools based on each child's needs and styles.

Quality of Teaching

Individualized Teaching: From the Director

Boulder Country Day's preschool class sizes are small and each classroom feels like a "nest" that nurtures each child to meet his/her needs. Our small class size enables us to truly know each child for who he or she is as an individual and then tailor our instruction accordingly.
