General School Mission

"Mt. Olive Lutheran Preschool Philosophy and Goals
a is our philosophy that early childhood should be a tine of fun. warmth, security, exploring, and discovery. Children are seen as individual! with a variety of developmental abilities, needs and interests, B well as different learning styles. Our school strives to encourage these qualities by providing a Kcure. nurturing environment for each child attending our school.
Our preschool program focuses on promoting independence and a positive self-concept through a develop Dentally appropriate curriculum.
For example: our curriculum includes: Sharing and conversation tin. Stories. *onjs and finger play* Creative art adWtie* and erofti Com*) and large nuscl* octivftiw
ft addition, each week our whole school attends a church time with our pastor. This includes stories and nmgs based on Christian ideals and principles.
brents are encouraged to visit any of the above activities at any time. Our staff recognizes each young shild-s need for close, consistent, supportive relationships with adults. Our staff-child ratios are sref lily monitored, staff turnover is low and class schedules are planned so that children are with the nme adults each day.
Our teachers and assistants are required to have a firm foundation in Child Development Knowledge. Each staff member must have completed required number of academic classes, have kad experience in the classroom and must continue their educational experiences through workshops, conferences and in-service training.
