Philosophy & Approach

Curriculum & Teaching Approach

From the Director:

'Garden of Angels' approach to curriculum is to create a passionate, learning environment designed by teachers and students cooperatively, that is hands-on, challenging and relative to the students life. Our approach is thematic, and though each subject has a specific direction, the curriculum is presented by showing how multiple subjects inter-relate as life does. Schools must model life. When a dialogue of the world is present students become knowledgeable and curious. Students discover the explorers who found, wrote, sang, danced, painted, fought, and dreamed. These types of discussions and debates are a powerful way of being in relationship to others, for every person we meet along life's path has an interest in at least one of them. There is a real confidence about being able to participate effectively in conversations that we are invited into, and feel like we are a part of them. The curriculum will include learning centers designed for specific areas of development as well as directed activities and group learning. We will introduce your children to activities that will educate and challenge them in the area of Reading Readiness, Math, Science, History, Language, Cognitive Thinking, Writing, Speech, Nutrition Safety, Small and Large Motor Skills, Art, Multi-Culturalism, Sensory Development, Social, Physical & Emotional Development, and Responsibility. We will offer additional areas of enrichment to your children that will become a part of their daily curriculum. A learning climate must be engaging and promote a passion for learning. It must provoke curiosity and a desire for more. Curriculum must be rich conceptually, and connect children with insights, observation and application. A child who loves to learn is much more likely to be disciplined towards mastering skills later in life.' -- Extracted from the Garden of Angels website

Day in the Life

General School Mission

'PHILOSOPHY: [the love of wisdom, the science which investigates the facts and principles of reality and human nature, which comprises login, ethics, aesthetics, physics, and the theory of knowledge.] GARDEN OF ANGELS provides complete exposure to a 'whole' education through an interactive, experiential, hands-on curriculum that stimulates growth: socially, intellectually, emotionally, spiritually, physically, and creatively. Our focus is to nurture, guide, encourage, educate and empower each student to be fully self-expressed.' -- Extracted from the Garden of Angels website

Home-School Connection

Home-School Connection: From the Director

'We believe a well-balanced child receives equal support from home and school. Participation is mandatory for a child to receive beneficial experiences and exposure. It is in the parents' best interest to use a consistent discipline and teaching style similar to that of the schools. Parents need to be in constant, positive communication with the staff.' -- Extracted from the Garden of Angels website
