From the Director:

We strongly feel that children need to play when they are young. They learn so much through play to increase their development, but most importantly they learn social interactions with others.

Individualized Teaching: From the Director

When the child is behind, excelling, or different from the other children I discuss it with the parents we come up with a plan and work on it in both home and school envirnment.

Home-School Connection

Home-School Connection: From the Director

Open communication is the key to a happy, long lasting relationship between a teacher and her preschool families.
Some of the ways I communicate with my clients:
Parent-teacher conference every 6 months
Newsletter once a month
Flyers on activites in our community
Daily verbal report on child's day

Separation is Handled through:

  • Home visits by teachers
  • Pre-entry meetings with parents at school
  • Small group sessions
  • Parents in classroom early on
  • Abbreviated schedule at start of school year

Handling Separation: From the Director

We handle separation anxiety several ways:
*Let the child know that the parent will be back and that the parent is thinking about the child.
*Have the parent bring a photo album of special people in the childs life
*Stay close to the child until he/she starts to feel comfortable
*redirect their attention
