Day in the Life

General School Mission

Willow Vale Christian Children's Center is a specific ministry of the Willow Vale Community Church. Its purpose is to provide a safe, loving and stimulating Christian environment for children, while away from their primary care giver.
The Center offers:
- Preschool
- Kindergarten through 8th grade classes
- an Independent Study Program for high school
- an After School Program
- a Summer Day Camp

A Typical Day

During the morning hours, the children will have free play, a circle time for songs, rhymes, and stories, opportunity to create an art project, both indoor and outdoor play, snack time, and musical games.

Lunch and then a nap time follows.

In the afternoon there will be another circle time, more activities, snack and opportunity for art and both an indoor and outdoor play time.

Home-School Connection: From the Director

We have Back to School nights, informal conversations, scheduled parent-teacher meeting and because we are a small school, we are able to keep all our parents well informed.

Willow Vale Christian Children's Center has a Kindergarten and a high percentage of our Pre-K children move ahead into our Kindergarten.

Separation is Handled through:

  • Pre-entry meetings with parents at school

Handling Separation: From the Director

We invite the parents to stay for a brief period before they leave. The child can then become interested in the class activities and is usually ready to separate from the parent.
