From the Director:

The curriculum at Kidango is based on current research, including research on brain development. We believe the ideal curriculum for children is developmentally appropriate, is child centered, and individualized to each child's needs. The curriculum approach is inspired by the teachings of Montessori, Reggio Emilia, High/Scope, and Piaget. We know that each teacher must provide a loving, nurturing, and homelike environment and an opportunity to experiment and use play for academic success. Each child has social-emotional, intellectual, and physical needs that must all be addressed by the curriculum to provide each child with a positive self-concept, a joy for learning, and ability to work and play with others.

Quality of Teaching

Individualized Teaching: From the Director

Kidango offers a variety of services to meet the diverse needs of young children and their families in the San Francisco Bay Area. Our highly qualified staff are trained to not only provide the best education and care for each child, they also are experts in developing supportive relationships with families. The bonds that we create each day are vital to the success of each child.

Day in the Life

General School Mission

The philosophy of Kidango is based on the belief that each child deserves an opportunity for total development. Each child comes to the program with certain strengths that should be expanded upon and reinforced. These strengths are based on the learning and teaching styles of their home, which are influenced by the structure and cultural background of the child's family. Those responsible for the program are challenged to create a multi-lingual, cross cultural environment, which will foster the physical, mental, emotional, and social development of all children

Separation is Handled through:

  • Pre-entry meetings with parents at school
  • Small group sessions
  • Extra staff dedicated to handle separation
