General Approach to Learning: Play-Based

From the Director:

"At the ECS Child Development Center, we believe that high- quality education must start at a very early age. Today's society is one of fast pace, and our future generations must be prepared. Developing skills in the areas of self help, self esteem, math, science, language arts and technology will bring our students to the forefront so they will be succeed in the 21st Century. Our curriculum is Bible based yet very academic. We have a curriculum designed for every program; infants through our afterschool (ages 5-11) program. Our Preschool Program (2 years to 4 years) takes children to their next developmental level. The children follow a more structured schedule, yet flexible enough to meet the needs of each child. The children have various learning centers such as dramatic play, block, quiet area and art area. Children learn basic math and science skills like colors and shapes. The preschoolers begin to learn their alphabets and their numbers to 10. Learning is disguised in fun activities like painting, dress up, cooking, and story time. The children also begin memorizing Bible verses. Our Pre-Kindergarten class is a transition preschool program with the academic characteristics of a kindergarten class. The room layout is similar to preschool, yet the children's schedule is more structured. They will have mastered Bible verse memorization, rote counting to at least 30, recognizing and writing the alphabet; capital and lower case letters, and phonics. The children will receive home assignments on subjects such as math and language arts. There is a science area in the classroom for children to explore nature's environment and other wonders of the world." Extracted from www.emmanuelcs.org

Day in the Life

General School Mission

"All students will receive a strong Biblical foundation, high-quality care and excellent instruction in a clean, safe and nurturing Christian environment to meet the needs of families, and the students will experience much spiritual/moral, emotional, personal, intellectual, social, physical, and technological growth.

Emmanuel Christian School has been delivering quality Christian education since 1996 for children in early development, pre-school, and kindergarten. In June of 2000, ECS moved into a new state-of-the-art education facility. With room to grow, ECS will be adding a grade level every year up to the 6th grade. ECS is a 'greenhouse' where growth is cultivated in our students. ECS students grow spriritually, intellectually, emotionally, physically, socially, and technologically. Additional growth areas are in self-confidence, self-discipline, and responsibility. A 'can-do' attitude is also emphasized." Extracted from www.emmanuelcs.org
