From the Director:

I believe every child deserves to be challenged to learn every day. We have a balance of group instruction, individual instruction, and self lead exploration to accomplish this goal. This helps children to learn to work with a group, be assertive and be self motivated. These skills are necessary for any school they will transition into, and for life in general.

From the Director:

The curriculum is rich, age appropriate, and all inclusive. My teaching approach is thematic, using a variety of teaching strategies to allow for different learning styles. This age group needs to move a lot, so we dance our vocabulary, we sing about colors, we jump to our numbers, and so on. Learning should and can be fun and exciting. It is important to me that we develop life long learners and good caring citizens. This is their first experience with school, and it should be a positive one!

All of the teachers and assistants that work here are already credentialed or are currently studying to be teachers. There are 2 to 3 adults working with 12 children every day allowing us to help the ones struggling to separate from Mom, and push the ones already ready to read.

Mrs. Frapwell’s Pre-Preschool is an exciting place to be Monday-Friday from 9AM-1PM. This program is designed for young children to thrive! Your child does not need to be potty trained to enroll.
Our main focus is their social and emotional skills. When the social skills and courtesies to adults and peers alike are in place, great positive strides can be made.
Our second goal here is providing many enriching activities both structured and play based every day. It is exciting to see what 2-5 year olds can learn! Here, your child will be enriched with other languages (Spanish, French & Czech), math skills, music, science, arts and crafts, reading readiness & phonics, and loads of great literature!
Mrs. Frapwell is licensed, CPR and health-safety certified, a former credentialed 2nd grade teacher, and a mother of 3. All of Mrs. Frapwell’s assistants are finger printed, TB tested, have passed a criminal background check, and are great with kids. Your child can come 2-5 times a week! We only have space for 12 students a day, so call as soon as possible. Located in Carmel Valley.

We are able to communicate with parents at drop off and pick up every day. I also send out a monthly news letter and emails of important events. I am very accessible through phone and email for a more private conversation. We also have an annual potluck holiday party when the parents can come meet the other children and families. Lastly, I do an informal assessment three times during the year, and issue a progress report half way through the year to parents. This helps the teaches and parents alike to know where to challenge each child, and celebrate what they have learned!

We have had a lot of experience dealing with separation anxiety since we accept only 2-5 year olds. We have a plan in place, extra staff to handle it, and an almost 100% success rate!
