Philosophy & Approach

School Philosophy

General Approach to Learning: Play-Based

From the Director:

We follow the National Association for the Education of Young Children's Developmentally Appropriate Practice in Early childhood Programs. We incorporate different styles and approaches to meet the needs of each child.

Quality of Teaching

Individualized Teaching: From the Director

Our teachers will adapt any particular activity to fit each child so that everyone can be included in his or her own way.

Day in the Life

General School Mission

We believe that love and acceptance, combined with just, fair and competent discipline, are the cornerstones of a child's personal, social, intellectual, and spiritual growth.

We regard each child as unique, with special talents, gifts, and potential.

A Typical Day

We open the school at 6:30am with our toddler and preschool programs co-mingled. At 8:00am they separate and go outdoors to their own playgrounds until 9:00am
At 9:00am a bell rings and the children line up to get washed up for indoor activities (art, freeplay, music, books). They also have snack.
They go back outdoors at around 10:15am until lunch time which is at 11:00am. After lunch they nap until about 2:30pm when they wake up and have snack and more indoor activities until 3:30pm when they go back outdoors until 5:00pm. From 5:00pm-6:00pm they are either indoors or playing in our courtyard area.

We do provide curriculum incorporating the following areas of development:
Physical (fine motor/gross motor)
Special Activities
Each class will vary depending upon age and development.
The teachers can choose a theme they are passionate about for the month and incorporate it into the lesson plan.
This is one reason why our teachers stay. It is a luxury for a preschool teacher to be able choose their topic of interest each month. Their passion is seen through the children who are just as eager to learn.
