General Approach to Learning: Play-Based

From the Director:

You're Invited provides a safe, play-based environment that allows the child to be an active participant in creating real and meaningful experiences, with staff striving to facilitate and support each child’s emerging development. We are a child-centered environment for children ages infant/toddler, preschool and school age with curriculum that is individually based, providing for each child’s whole development. .

From the Director:

Research proves children learn better through experiencing their environment and learn extraordinary amounts through play and exploration. Children’s learning must be relevant and interesting to where they are, developing children social/emotionally, academically, physically and creatively

All of our teacher are fully qualified, CPR/First Aid trained, with goals to continue their education.

General School Mission

The highly qualified staff at You're Invited respects and encourages each child's individual interests and learning styles by providing learning activities both indoors and outdoors. Our unique environment and play-based philosophy offers children all the opportunities to develop and build the skills necessary for their individual success.

A Typical Day

Daily Schedule
Indoor Activities 7:00

Breakfast offered 7:30 am

Morning Experiences, Indoor/Outdoor 8:00 – 11:00 am - (Small groups and individualized learning - Art, Writing, Math, Language, Construction, Manipulatives, Dramatic play, Sensory Play etc)

Together Time 11:00 (Large Group - Books, Songs, Fingerplays, Learning games)

Wash Hands, Lunch Prep 11:15 am

Lunch 11:30 am

Naptime as needed 12:00 – 2:45 pm

Afternoon Experiences, Indoor/Outdoor 1:00 – 3:30 pm

Snack offered 3:00 pm

Extended Activities, Indoor/Outdoor 3:30 – 6:00 pm (small group art, construction, cooking projects, etc)

Separation is Handled through:

  • Pre-entry meetings with parents at school
  • Extra staff dedicated to handle separation
  • Parents in classroom early on

Handling Separation: From the Director

We encourage (but do not require) families to come visit a few times before enrolling to spend time in the environment, allowing the child(ren) to get comfortable.
