Quality of Teaching

Individualized Teaching: From the Director

Ms. Felix allows for each child's individality while workign to bring them all up to a level that will allow them success as they move on in their education. With ehr background in Special needs education, she can fully understand and monitor each child's unique needs.

Day in the Life

General School Mission

We provide the environment to give the children the best opportunity for educational and emotional advancement. We believe that given time to investigate and learn at their own pace gives children a lifelong love of learning.

A Typical Day

Each of the two class times offer an educational time where basic colors, shapes, alphabet and numbers are used in daily life for a solid understanding. Hand-eye coordination, early reading, gross motor skills and much more are practiced in several settings to allow children to learn in their best methods.

Home-School Connection

Home-School Connection: From the Director

We are a very cohesive program that has all of our staff on the same goal; the safety, health and happiness of every participant. Oakland Parks and Recreation offer programs that are both exceptionally affordable and extremely flexible for each family's changing needs. Auxillary programs to increase your child's learning day may include cooking, art and sports classes.

Handling Separation: From the Director

We have along history in all our programs understanding the separation anxiety issues from botht eh child and parent's sides. We know it is not easy to see your child upset by a situation that is new to you both. As experienced parents ourselves- who have personally experienced this behavior with our own children, we know that most often, 'leaving' is a skill we all need to practice before we master it.
