Quality of Teaching

Individualized Teaching: From the Director

We value how each and every child is an individual. We apply children strengths in the classroom and build on their weaknesses. No child is unable to learn, we as educators must find a way that works with each child.

Day in the Life

General School Mission

Our philosophy is to educate the whole child and build not only a great education but also character of the child. We prepare them for a life long journey of decision making, character, and academics.

A Typical Day

We at Family Learning Center love our children and our program. We offer many avenues of learning for each child. We pride ourself in having a clean environment, that is very exciting and enjoyable. Our kids love to come to school and many of them don't want to leave. Daily our children participate in story time, art, pretend play, dramatic play, puppet skits, art and many other activities

Home-School Connection

Home-School Connection: From the Director

Our goal is to keep open communication with our staff and our parents. We work on goals that parents have written down for their child. At our Back to School night parents are able to learn more about our classroom and about their child's teachers. During the year we have parent education classes that we offer. Everyday we endeavor to speak with each parent and make ourself available should they need to speak with us in more detail.

Separation is Handled through:

  • Home visits by teachers
  • Small group sessions
  • Extra staff dedicated to handle separation

Handling Separation: From the Director

A firm hug and a gentle kiss from the parent lets the child know that they will return. As the parents are more comfortable about the choice they made for their child, the child naturally becomes more comfortable. Throughout the day we make sure that we have plenty of staff should a need arise for extra encouragement from a caretaker.
