Children bring a prepared lunch from home, but microwaves are provided if needed. This activity also builds social skills, manners and independence.
Outside time for the morning students and the older nappers. The younger nappers are settled first to their cots after lunch as selected classical music permeates the background.
A sleeping cot and space are available for all full-time children as required by law. Two blankets and a pillow come from home and are taken home for washing weekly. Note: no child is forced to nap, but needs to rest for at least one hour.
As the children get up from nap they are able to choose work, look at books, playdough, or art.
A nutritious snack is served before the children play.
Creative Active Circle
Musical instruments, big books, cassette stories, library books, and group participation promote reading and listening skills.
Again the child is free to choose from the prepared environment, watch selected educational videos or look at books.
