Day in the Life

General School Mission

We firmly believe that the first six years of a child's life are the richest and most important. Those are the years that decide what kind of a man or woman that child will become. Therefore, every child, during those years, should have the best training and the best kind of education. This education should help the child: (1) develop to the fullest his or her natural potentials; (2) become a full mature person; (3) and the sense of reality, concentration and independence, self-assurance, courage to face the problems of life and the wisdom to solve them to his own advantage. We believe in the dignity of every human being, and it is our conviction that even little children have to be treated with respect, love and understanding. Discipline is the foundation of the human character, therefore, there cannot be education without it. The child should learn to form a self-discipline which is the result of a mutual respect and understanding between parents and children, authority and subjects, teacher and pupil. GOALS: 1. Develop the prime elements of the child's character, particularly self-discipline 2. Develop the child's intellectual capacities by helping him or her gain the knowledge compatible to his or her age. 3. Surround the child with an orderly and joyful atmosphere to help him make sense of the outside world and build up a joyful and sensible order inside of himself. 4. Surround the child with understanding and love qualified by mutual respect and self-imposed discipline.

A Typical Day

7-8:30 a.m. free time 8:30 - 11:30 class time and playtime outside 11:30 - 12:30 lunch 12:30 - 1 get ready for nap 1 - 3 p.m. nap 3-6 p.m. craft, music, story and outside play

Home-School Connection

Home-School Connection: From the Director

Each teacher is constantly in contact with the parents through daily notices for the two and three year olds and the older children take home activities so that parents can see what kind of help they need and they can participate in their progress. Whenever necessary or requested parent-teacher conferences are scheduled.We try to help parents when parents request help.

Separation

Separation is Handled through:

  • Pre-entry meetings with parents at school

Handling Separation: From the Director

We tell parents to talk a lot to their children explaining that parents need to go to work and child needs to go to school because he/she are bit boys and girls. We tell parents to always kiss their child goodbye and not to linger too long because that makes separation more difficult. We also encourage parents to call us as many times as needed during the day to find out how their child is doing.
