Philosophy & Approach

School Philosophy

General Approach to Learning: Play-Based, Reggio-Emilia

From the Director:

In the infant room, there is not a set curriculum, the infants needs are all met. In the toddler room, they are emergent learners. In the preschool classrooms we use the Creative Curriculum, and bi-weekly themes are introduced.

Day in the Life

General School Mission

We provide an environment that promotes self-esteem and a sense of fundamental worth of each child and staff member. We recognize individuality, and maintain a supportive setting for the needs of both the children and staff. At the same time, we see children as an integral part of the community based on an understanding of others and a respect for diversity. We provide activities and experiences to develop your child’s sense of relationship to the local and global communities in which they participate. We strive to maintain a balance between the uniqueness and social identity of each child.

A Typical Day

In the infant room the schedule is based on the needs of the infants.
The toddlers, Preschool1, and Preschool 2 rooms follow a schedule that involves, playing, breakfast, circle time, outside play, community walks, inside play, art activities, nap, snack, and more activities.

Home-School Connection
