Quality of Teaching

Individualized Teaching: From the Director

We have a higher staff to child ratio than most centers, so the children receive the attention they deserve in the group setting. We are able to take alittle more time with those who need it. Children who are excelling or ahead, we are able to give these children alittle more extra challenge if they want to excel more quickly.

We have back to school night in the fall, and we send home monthly letters about what is taking place at school. If the child has an especially good day, we send home a note, and on the other hand, if there is a problem, we send home a note. If a parent wishes a conference with a parent, the parent is welcome to schedule one.

Handling Separation: From the Director

We comfort the child as best we can, and encourage them to bring a "comfort item" - soft toy, blanket or family member's picture to assist the child in transitioning from home to school.
