Philosophy & Approach

Day in the Life

General School Mission

"Our goal at CCNS is to provide rich experiences and opportunities for children to develop sound relationships with other youngsters and to provide a nurturing environment where children can develop good feelings about themselves, their abilities, and the world around them.

Our school offers a place where you can share in your child's nursery school experience, meet other parents who are interested in participating and sharing in the same way...and who can actually have a hand in the running of the school.

Our school is Christian based, and is non-denominational (we lease space from our host church). Our Christian practices include prayer before snacks, the celebration of holidays, and periodically the pastors of our host church will share bible stories with the children.

Our school is fortunate to have a wonderful working relationship with the Marianne Frostig Center of Educational Therapy. Three times a year (in addition to speakers at our parent meetings), scheduled visitations provide a team of professionals at our school site to observe all our children, evaluate our programs and assist our teachers in providing feedback to our parents. These professionals may be consulted (by private arrangements) when a need arises."
