Philosophy & Approach

School Philosophy

General Approach to Learning: Play-Based, Teacher-Led

From the Director:

Young students learn by moving. Our PreTwinkle violin classes are very active and appropriate for young boys. We encourage our older and more advanced students to do community service in the community with their music.

From the Director:

In the Suzuki Method the children learn to develop good listening skills, musical motion and tone before they are introduced to reading. We start with listening. The children who do the most listening become the most skillful readers.

Quality of Teaching

Individualized Teaching: From the Director

In the Suzuki Method each child is allowed to progress at their own pace. Suzuki Materials are supplemented by Fiddle tunes or other music of the child's choice when appropriate. Advanced students have more opportunities to participate in ensemble playing.

Day in the Life

General School Mission

Please see our web site for more detail about the Suzuki Method as practiced at the Talent Education Center.
We are known in the community for our PreTwinkle Violin program for Preschool Children on Saturdays as well as violin instruction for students ages 5 and up.

Home-School Connection

Home-School Connection: From the Director

Parents attend all lessons with younger children and may be asked to be there to take notes for an older student when needed. Ms. Cynthia is available for consultation over the phone.
