Day in the Life

General School Mission

Meadowlark Preschool offers a loving and nurturing environment that is beautiful and safe, fostering creative and imaginative play, positive social interactions, and encourages children to learn through their senses and their own experiences. Play based curriculum includes science and nature, gardening, cooking, art and crafts, music, and movement. Small group instruction, in specific academic areas, is available for those children planning on entering Kindergarten in the fall. All children also participate daily in circle and story time activities, rich literature and math experiences, pre-literacy and phonics activities, and fine motor practice. Children engage and create with natural manipulatives such as shells, wool, stones, and wooden toys. We use both Waldorf and Montessori methods for teaching.
