At Little Lambs Preschool, we offer a Preschool of the Arts drawn from the Reggio approach to education and from our knowledge of developmentally-appropriate educational practices. We know that a child's brain is elastic and our goal is to stretch their mind and inspire them through tangible experiences and concrete learning. Our children will learn science, math, social studies, literacy, Biblical studies, and moral values through an integrated approach to education, as well as offering performing arts such as drama, music, dance/creative movement, self-expressive art, etc. This gives us the ability to inspire them to become lifelong learners with an insatiable quest for knowledge and understanding, while discovering their gifts and talents. We believe that merging academics with the arts, through teaching is essential in order to serve the whole child.

From the Director:

Children are the greatest gift any man or woman can receive, and we appreciate your interest in Little Lambs Preschool. We see the importance in the time and effort you have taken to make sure you place your child in a caring and loving environment. We value the children entrusted to us. Your child will have the opportunity to learn and grow in a safe environment. We bring organization to every classroom that allows for creative minds to think, laugh, play and interact socially and develop on every level throughout their time with us. We offer small classes, dedicated teachers, loving childcare staff and a close family atmosphere. We strive for a tradition of excellence by entering into a partnership with parents to bring about the best early childhood education experience for your child. The staff at Little Lambs Preschool are individuals who are dedicated to this field. The time that your child spends in preschool is one of the most significant and important times that he/she will spend learning in his/her lifetime. Other subjects taught We are a Performing Arts Preschool. We offer Dance and Creative movement, Music, Drama and an Art room (Artelier) for our children to be exposed to everyday. All included in your weekly tuition.

From the Director:

Research studies have shown that by exposing children to the performing arts we help them to improve their critical thinking skills and develop self confidence. Children naturally respond to dance, creative movements, music, art and drama. Now is the time to expose your child to many different experiences. Our approach takes into account the expressive needs and developmental abilities of young children. Art: Art is designing, creating and exploring! Fine-motor skills and eye-hand coordination will be enhanced through these activities: painting, paper mache, collages, clay, making jewelry, puppets and so much more… Drama and Music: Drama classes combine elements from music, dance, creative movement and drama classes. Children sing songs, act out stories and short plays, puppet shows, acting games, mime, learn poems, rhymes and more. The drama component is designed to build confidence while having lots of fun! Dance/Creative Movements: “Let them dance! As they count the beat, feel the rhythm and learn to express themselves through dance and creative movement, children build incredible self-esteem. Physically, their coordination and strength improve mentally, they challenge their ability to recall, remember and be creative in a structured environment.” – Mom & Caregivers Magazine

Quality of Teaching

Individualized Teaching: From the Director

Emergent Curriculum-
A weekly lesson plan of “Planned possibilities” is posted in your child’s classroom and at the back of the sign in/out clipboard to keep you informed of LLP activities and events. In order to allow for spontaneous learning and flexibility to the children’s interests, this plan may not necessarily be followed as a rigid agenda. These themes and projects develop from the children’s interests and may last 1 day or an entire month.
Cognitive skills (ABC’s, writing, counting, etc.) will be incorporated into the everyday curriculum. An example of this could be found in block play. As children play with blocks, they are counting, measuring, and problem solving, socializing, creating artistically, dramatizing, and probably writing by drawing words for signs. These hidden components of play, which are eagerly encouraged by the staff, are the cornerstones of our curriculum. “Intrinsic Academics” are promoted rather than rote learning. We want children to truly understand a concept or subject from having first hand experience instead of just memorizing facts and figures.
