The PJCC Preschool incorporates an exciting values-based curriculum into all programs. An Ethical Start is based on the classic Jewish text of Pirkei Avot (Ethics of the Fathers and Mothers). Our specially trained staff creates an environment of hands-on discovery and discussion, encouraging children to make decisions based, not on impulse, but on Jewish ethics and values, such as respect, responsibility, kindness and community. (Do not have to be Jewish to attend!)

Home-School Connection

Home-School Connection: From the Director

Parents are the heart of the PJCC Preschool and their tremendous support creates our vibrant program. Each new year begins with a New Parent Welcome Brunch organized by returning families as an opportunity to create connections on site before preschool begins. Teachers meet with their class parents at a Back to School Night within the first three weeks of the new school year. Parents are invited to use the class roster to make connections that will enrich their lives, such as car pools and playdates. Parents are encouraged to participate in the rich life of our learning community through various volunteer opportunities through our Kesher organization (room parent, event coordinator, event staffing) and/or to support the classroom as a Mystery Reader, visiting Teacher or field trip chaperone. PJCC Preschool reflects our GREEN principles by communicating with parents through a daily whiteboard update and a weekly electronic newsletter for each classroom. Teachers conference individually with parents in late Fall and late Spring to share information about the child's development.
