General Approach to Learning: Play-Based

Day in the Life

General School Mission

Our preschool is a happy place where children are encouraged to explore and discover new things by interacting with others every day. Part of the preschool experience is to learn about sharing and working together with others. This is a time when preschoolers begin participating in activities for longer periods - listening to stories, singing songs, playing games, and doing art projects. Through stories, children learn to appreciate language, gain new vocabulary, learn to use new words and concepts. Simple participatory songs and games are important introductions to speech patterns, sensory motor skill development and movement skills. Self-discovery is the outcome of every day.

Our pre-kindergarten classrooms prepare the children for kindergarten. There are five important areas we emphasize. These are at the core of the curriculum: social and emotional development; approach to learning; language development; physical well being and motor development, and general knowledge. Our pre-kindergarten students use workbooks which are designed to encompass pre-reading and listening skills.

We are a Christian school, with a daily chapel time in all classrooms. We pray before meals and encourage the children to pray for one another. We are Bible based, but non-denominational.
