"The dynamics of family and society have changed in the last 50+ years, but the major emphasis is still to assist mothers and fathers to be better parents. It is an arena for parents to enter a larger community. An active role in the administration of the preschool can lead to a more active role later in elementary school, the PTA, or the community.
The Co-op remains an important laboratory for parents to share the hopes and concerns for the development of their children. It is still a place for families to forge lasting friendships, and it is a place to foster a strong sense of community in good times as well as bad.
The on-going goal of the membership is to continue building a stronger program by improving the developmental and educational opportunities for both the children and parents. This is the spirit of cooperation and community that has allowed the Twin Cities Cooperative Preschool to thrive for over 50 years.
