Philosophy & Approach

Day in the Life

General School Mission

"Our Philosophy at Magnolia Preschool and Kindergarten is based on a set of strongly held beliefs:

Children are unique individuals. We are sensitive to their intellectual, emotional, social and physical needs. Our center provides developmentally and age appropriate programs that focus on the process of learning and helping children enjoy successful experiences.

Youngsters need a physical environment that is safe, clean, healthy and oriented to children. Here at Magnolia Preschool and Kindergarten, we provide that kind of environment.

Classrooms are arranged to offer challenging plans and learning choices at various developmental levels.

Positive methods of discipline are committed beliefs here at Magnolia Preschool and Kindergarten. We structure consistent, age-appropriate limits to help children function in their world. Our programs are designed to develop a sense of independence, self-esteem and responsibility. We aim to strengthen each child's own cultural identity, while instilling a respect for others who may be different.

Parents are the most significant adults in a child's life. We at Magnolia Preschool and Kindergarten strive to create a mutual respect between parents and teachers: a partnership for the benefit of the child. We value teachers and parents as partners in the children's education. We encourage daily communication between parents and school staff. Magnolia Preschool and Kindergarten has an open-door policy for parents at all times. Teachers and parents consult and collaborate to create a climate of respect, success and joy necessary for lifelong learning for each child
