Day in the Life

General School Mission

At Village Kids, we believe that children thrive in settings where there is a strong sense of community and productivity. Our center is uniquely designed to look and feel like a children’s village! Everyday is an exciting day as preschoolers experience “village life” going to the Village Schoolhouse, to the Village Library, and to the Village Café for organic meals and snacks. Home-School Connection

Home-School Connection: From the Director

The director gets to know each family on an indivdual basis by being available during school hours, by phone face to face and by email. We will have open houses, parent-child events, partnerships with community events, and parent teacher meetings through out the year.

Separation

Separation is Handled through:

  • Pre-entry meetings with parents at school
  • Extra staff dedicated to handle separation
  • Abbreviated schedule at start of school year

Handling Separation: From the Director

Almost every child goes thorugh the start of preschool seperation. One of the most important things a parent can do is be honest with your child, be friendly with the teachers, and be excited about coming to school. Your child can bring a "transitional object" to school every day. This might be a stuffed animal, a blanket, a picture, anything that your child needs to hold on to, that will make this seperation easier.
