We would like you to know a little about our Preschool and Childcare, and ways in which we seek to serve the families in our community… Our facility is a renovated historic church, one of the first in the Greenacres area, founded in 1947. A perfect beginning for a Christian Preschool as our founders, Florence ‘Flo” and Bob Gause, bought and remodeled the building in 1983. Based on “old fashioned learning with up-to-date style” the school has been in operation for over twenty-five years! Many of the parents of our children today, attended LCCS as young children.

Quality of Teaching

Individualized Teaching: From the Director

Your child’s teacher will have the greatest impact on student learning and academic outcomes. The teacher is central to our program, and acts primarily as a facilitator, encouraging a strong partnership between the home and school.
Thanks to the small child to staff ratio, the children get individual attention and one on one interaction with our staff. They have a wonderful experience with hands on programs and interactive play.
Each teacher has completed required courses in early childhood education, and LCCS is providing an ongoing training program for the staff to learn and improve skills necessary when working with young children. Our Curriculum Coordinator designs an age appropriate curriculum, using the ABeka materials. Each age, from two through four, are taught by well trained and supervised staff.
Our staff is trained to promote participation in age-appropriate activities, such as unstructured hands-on play, group story-time, and themed activities. Our children are encouraged to learn through play.

Day in the Life

General School Mission

Little Country Christian School incorporates a teaching philosophy that recognizes Christian principles and a child,s desire to learn while having fun. We believe that building a proper relationship with God is an essential part of a well rounded education. With this in mind, we emphasize the moral, spiritual and physical development of each child. Educational goals include patriotism, respect for authority, a love for learning and a desire to know God. We use a reading system developed by Abeka Book Publications. Children are taught new material on each age level, progressing steadily at their own pace from year to year.

A Typical Day

Curriculum at LCCS:

At LCCS, we combine the use of a complete phonics reading system developed by Abeka Book Publications and our own reading readiness program.

We follow a teaching philosophy that recognizes Christian principles and a child??s desire to learn while having fun.

In addition to the specific learning objectives listed by age in this handbook, the children will participate in the following activities.

*Bible Stories and activities ?? Children will learn the Bible through story time, music, Bible videos, and scripture memory.

*Musical activities ?? Children love our special music time. Singing, dancing, and playing rhythm instruments are just a few of the ways the children can express themselves through music. The children will also perform in two musical programs a year.

*Science Activities ?? Children are naturally curious about the world around them. We try to create an atmosphere that encourages wondering, observing, exploring and discovery.

*Creative Arts ?? Children are given the opportunity to experiment, discover, imagine and express their original ideas in a free and open environment where the individual and her/his personal contributions are highly cherished.

*Play Time ?? Structured and unstructured play time encourages social play, imagination and large and small muscle development.

Our curriculum ensures that students will be taught new material at each age level and that there will be sufficient reviews of former material each year. Students progress at their own pace with loving encouragement from teaching staff.
