General Approach to Learning: Play-Based, Co-op

From the Director:

We see each child as unique, with individual preferences, interests, learning styles and rates of development. Teachers plan experiences and activities to meet the varying developmental needs of each child in the class. Children learn when they are allowed to make choices based on their own individual needs and interests.

We strive to create confident, creative, independent problem solvers who are comfortable making a friend, resolving conflict and communicating their needs and feelings. We hope children leave our school with the internal motivation to succeed in life, and the knowledge that learning is fun!

General School Mission

Our curriculum is based on the National Association for the Education of Young Children’s ( standards for Developmentally Appropriate Practice. We adopted The Creative Curriculum which was created by educators to meet the NAEYC standards. The Creative Curriculum ( goals and objectives are aligned to the Arizona Department of Education’s Early Learning Standards. (


Separation is Handled through:

  • Pre-entry meetings with parents at school
  • Small group sessions
  • Parents in classroom early on
  • Abbreviated schedule at start of school year
