Philosophy & Approach

School Philosophy

General Approach to Learning: Play-Based

From the Director:

We teach teh children concepts through play in all of our learning centers.

Quality of Teaching

Individualized Teaching: From the Director

We make it a point to access each child so that we know the best way to approach teaching the individual child. Every child is different and they all have their own strengths and weaknesses. We find what they are and we start from there.

Day in the Life

General School Mission

We are dedicated to loving and nurturing every child in our center. We strive to teach them morals and instill values that coincide witrh our Christian beliefs. We prepare the children for kindergarten and for life. We treat every child with love and respect and we use firm, consistent disciplinary measures. We teach the children what is acceptable behavior instead of just punishing them for inappropriate behavior. Our goal is to make a lasting impression on each child in the center. No matter how small we want each child to leave our center with many happy memories.

A Typical Day

Our day consists of alot of fun activities. We concentrate on cognitive language, fine and gross motor skills, social and emotional and self help skills. We incorporate theme-based units with bible lessons, sign language and spanish. All of this we provide while the kids are still having fun and they don't even realize that they are learning everything that it takes to succeed in kindergarten and beyond.

Home-School Connection

Home-School Connection: From the Director

We do Parent-Teacher conferences twice a year. We do a monthly newsletter, we do a daily behavior folder for the parents to read and sign.I am avaialble every morning and afternoon to speak with the parents as well as my teachers. We send home parent letters every week to let the parent know what we will be studying for the week along with a copy of the Bible story, sign language and spanish for the week.

Separation is Handled through:

  • Pre-entry meetings with parents at school
  • Extra staff dedicated to handle separation

Handling Separation: From the Director

We do our best to comfort every child who experiences separation anxiety. We take the child form the parent and take thm into the classroom to get them involved in an activity to take their mind off of the situation. We encourage the parents to call as often as they like to check on their child.
