Application Information

Applications accepted All prospective staff members participate in an exhaustive application process, including interviews, observations, reference checking and a criminal background check. all children must demonstrate readiness for social interaction and some concentration ability prior to acceptance. it is our policy that children accepted into the primary classes be fully toilet trained. children who are 4 years old or older, or those children entering school midyear will also meet with a teacher prior to acceptance. each new child will meet his teacher and visit his new classroom just prior to the start of school. once we receive your application form, we will contact you to arrange a parent observation (optional) and a follow-up parent interview. the interview will present the opportunity to discuss your classroom observations and your child, specifically. children who are 4 years old or older, or those children entering school midyear will also meet with a teacher prior to acceptance. application procedure (applications will remain on file for our office will contact you to arrange an optional observation. a parent and/or child interview will also be arranged when applicable. parents will be asked to submit a statement clarifying their family's educational goals. upon written notice of acceptance, parents must execute and return an enrollment contract and deposit fee (to be applied to tuition) in order to secure a place for their child.

Acceptance criteria: Precedence is given to siblings when a family has demonstrated support of the program and the Montessori philosophy in the past. Those children who will turn three by September 1 will be given first consideration for the Primary mixed-age group. If space permits, a child 4 yrs old (or older) will be considered after an interview/evaluation and with a strong commitment by the family to remain in our school long-term. Trace around your child's foot, with shoe on, on a piece of white construction paper or card stock. Have child cut out the shoe print and add a spooky face. Glue it to a popsicle stick and you have a ghost stick puppet!
