Parents' Comments on Individualized Teaching
Parent #1
Praise is used when it is appropriate not endlessly so that it becomes devalued.
Parent #2
At PPNS the teachers don't praise good behavior or good work. They acknowledge the work, make comments about the art work or dispute but rarely judge or categorize the kids work as good or bad or good behavior vs bad behavior. That is why I have given that answer a 3.
Parent #3
All 4 teachers who I've had the pleasure of knowing for 4 years do always accomplish all the listed qualities. They are amazing!
Parent #4
Excellent, committed, understanding teachers. They value their play based philosophy and stress every time you interact with them that they love and respect our children.
Parent #5
There are usually 4 teachers in the classroom and all are superb. This year, one does not stand out as the lead teacher. However, they do break into groups and have a teacher led activity with the same teacher each school day.
Parent #6
The teachers at PPNS are of the highest quality and they work as a team. They are the most nurturing and experienced group I've ever worked with. They are extremely aware of all children's needs and are experts in guiding children through conflict resolution and communications.
Parent #7
The teachers are very good at engaging children in activities, which I see as a very positive thing about our school. However, I had a child who needed 'alone' time and it was hard for them to allow him to disengage, even though he was perfectly happy being by himself at times.
Parent #8
There are 5 teachers and I have never observed a more active, engaged group. They have endless energy and are so focused on the children. My child can be quite demanding and they are so patient with her. They spend a lot of time teaching the children (and parents in education seminars) how to resolve conflict and play with others.

Joy Through a Child's Eyes
It was a cold and soggy day at the Star of Texas Fair & Rodeo. Cold, that is, for March day here in Austin. Of all the sights to see, my son spent most of our visit at the petting zoo. He picked out his
