Director's Comments on Individualized Teaching
Description of how teachers work with children who are
"behind," "excelling" or "different" from the majority of students
We encourage students who are behind to participate in class activities. We do not label.
Parents' Comments on Individualized Teaching
Parent #1
The teachers are excellent and really care about each child.
Parent #2
My son's teacher is a wonderfully energetic, enthusiastic teacher, passionate about learning more about her field so that she can then share that with the kids. She is full of creative ideas and is ALWAYS warm and understanding with the children. I cannot say enough about how much my child loves her and the positive impact she has had on his school experience.
Parent #3
I think the 4/5 teacher is great; she really knows how to engage the children and is very positive and upbeat.
Parent #4
I filled out the survey for my son's teacher was in the 2/3's class. I believe that she is the perfect teacher to be with this age of choldren. She has three children of her own which she home schools. She is very patient with the children and has the exact tone that one would want for their child just entering school. If a child is having trouble separating with his/her parent she will tell you that it is fine to stay, but the child will be fine if you leave and she will sit and hold that child and talk to them as long as necessary. And it does work out the child does sto crying and begins to enjoy the class. We have had this teacher for four years and she is wonderful.

Being Savvy Today
A Trip to Africa
If you ask most preschoolers about Africa, they will probably tell you what they saw in The Lion King. The Africa of lions, giraffes, hyenas and meerkats all living on the savannah in Africa is only a small part of a land that can exhaust the use of
Montessori? Waldorf? Play-based?
What school type is right for your child? Is one model better than another? What does the research say?

Today's “Preschool’s Out” Activity
Trace around your child's foot, with shoe on, on a piece of white construction paper or card stock. Have child cut out the shoe print and add a spooky face. Glue it to a popsicle stick and you have a ghost stick puppet!
