School Philosophy and Mission
The children at Far Horizons are encouraged to explore, investigate, and fulfill their natural curiosity about the world around them. Under the careful guidance of our teachers, children develop at their own pace in a stimulating and nurturing environment. They experience school as an adventure - one that inspires a lifetime of learning and discovery.

Typical Day-In-The-Life At This School
When you walk into a Far Horizons classroom, the first thing you notice is that everyone is busy. There is a variety of activity in the classroom as well as a great deal of movement.
One child is counting beads on a hundred chain labeling each group of ten; others are working together on a puzzle map of South America. A child sits in a rocking chair as she reads to herself. Nearby, several children are working independently with the moveable alphabet, spelling phonetic words and sentences. Still others are working on practical life and sensorial activities such as table washing, sewing, mirror polishing, and sound cylinders. Over in the corner of the room, a teacher introduces new language activity to a small group of children.
Each child is engaged with an activity of choice. He will complete the activity cycle, and then may continue using the material as long as it holds his interest. When he is finished, he will return the material to the shelf and select another.

Today's “Preschool’s Out” Activity
Trace around your child's foot, with shoe on, on a piece of white construction paper or card stock. Have child cut out the shoe print and add a spooky face. Glue it to a popsicle stick and you have a ghost stick puppet!
