School Philosophy and Mission
"Children are unique individuals who carry within themselves unlimited potential
In allowing children the freedom to learn and grow at their own pace
In the value of cultural richness and multi-ethnic diversity
That children develop self-confidence, independence, initiative, a sense of order, concentration and a love of learning in an atmosphere of freedom and discipline
That the program's strength lies in the educational team made up of teachers and parents
That parental involvement is an essential ingredient to a child's educational success
Educational progress is measured in many ways: family projects, portfolios, performances, classroom participation, and play
FALC Curriculum Design
The prepared environment possesses a progressive order of developmentally - appropriate equipment and materials that children manipulate at their own speed and in a non-competitive manner. The multicultural curriculum uses an eclectic approach combining various subject areas such as math, science, language, literacy, music, movement, geography, social studies and the arts. This approach offers a mix of both interactive and individualized lessons. The constantly evolving process allows teachers to observe the child's capacity and design activities that fit particular developmental needs.

Being Savvy Today
On My Own
We met up with my father for a weekend in Grayton Beach, Florida . It was too short as the girls don't see nearly enough of their grandparents, but we packed it full of fun. We spent our last day on the beach
Montessori? Waldorf? Play-based?

Today's “Preschool’s Out” Activity
Trace around your child's foot, with shoe on, on a piece of white construction paper or card stock. Have child cut out the shoe print and add a spooky face. Glue it to a popsicle stick and you have a ghost stick puppet!
