School Philosophy and Mission
"During your child's time at The Jewish Learning Center they will have the opportunity to learn through a variety of hands on experiences. The curriculum is designed and geared towards the emotional and social interaction of the children. The emphasis of our daily activities, as well as our overall objectives, is on learning, rather than teaching. Our certified teachers combine a variety of activities to assure the meeting of the curriculum goals.
Toys are the tools and play is the process through which our children learn about the world around them. Our program offers nurturing, professional care for your child, and is designed to help them develop a strong sense of self worth. We provide your child with a warm, secure environment, filled with love, good physical care, and an atmosphere conducive to learning. Your child will be provided with the chance to grow socially, emotionally, physically, and intellectually, through a variety of learning centers and child oriented tasks and skills. Children are encouraged to develop their self-esteem in an atmosphere of warmth and love, guided by nurturing, caring, professionals.
To create self-motivated, life-long learners, our early childhood program provides a developmentally appropriate, integrated curriculum that enhances the social/emotional, intellectual, aesthetic, and physical development of each child while nurturing autonomy, self-esteem, and success. Careful planning by our staff is a monumental part of the program. Our curriculum is developmental with age appropriate activities planned around central themes.

Montessori? Waldorf? Play-based?
What school type is right for your child? Is one model better than another? What does the research say?

Today's “Preschool’s Out” Activity
Trace around your child's foot, with shoe on, on a piece of white construction paper or card stock. Have child cut out the shoe print and add a spooky face. Glue it to a popsicle stick and you have a ghost stick puppet!
