Typical Day-In-The-Life At This School

"6:00-7:50 Supervised indoor play- children arriving early will be together in the Preschool
room with the morning teachers. This is a friendly, informal time where children
will be encouraged to join the group at the different interest area tables or in the
circle as they arrive.
7:50-8:00 Clean up and get ready for Circle Time.
8:00-8:20 Good Morning Singing Circle Time - all students and teachers in the Preschool
Room.
8:20-8:45 Children go with their teacher to their classroom; outside play, weather permitting.
8:45-12:00 Opening time - Calendar, weather, singing, prayer and flag salutes.
Curriculum Presentation - Children are introduced to the Arts, Sciences, Music,
and Rhythm, small and large motor skill development, shapes, colors, letters and
numbers concepts, language skills, sensory perception and reading readiness
activities.
Group Play - Children are given a choice of activities that allow them to play by
themselves or with other children. The areas include blocks, manipulative toys,
playdough, dramatic play readiness games and art activities.
Gross Motor Development - Physical activity to enhance large muscle
development for coordination.
Snack Time - Social time for conversation and time for the children to participate
and observe social behaviors. Children are involved in preparing and cleaning up.

12:00-12:30 Lunchtime for extended care students.
12:30-2:30 Naptime - Children enrolled in extended childcare take a rest.
2:30-3:30 Children get up, use the restroom, wash hands and prepare for snack. After snack
is eaten, their area is cleaned.
3:30-6:30 Indoor and outdoor activities - various activities are scheduled. Parents pick up
their children."

Trace around your child's foot, with shoe on, on a piece of white construction paper or card stock. Have child cut out the shoe print and add a spooky face. Glue it to a popsicle stick and you have a ghost stick puppet!
