School Philosophy and Mission
"The mission of Alta Vista Montessori School is to provide a Montessori experience for children aged 18 months through 6 years and to create an environment that inspires children to develop inner discipline, self-assurance, and a love of learning. Our program provides a creative adaptive environment that responds to each child's individual strengths and needs. We seek to balance academic and social development to foster responsibility and cooperation within a supportive learning environment. We respect and value differences. The staff, the parents and the children communicate clearly and openly and treat each other with honesty and mutual respect.
This mission is accomplished by
Adhering to Montessori theory and practices as defined by the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI).
Encouraging cultural and ethnic diversity.
Recognizing the value of a curriculum-based early childhood education.
Fostering involvement of parents, teachers, students and the larger community.
