Typical Day-In-The-Life At This School
"Head Start Daily Schedule:
Each individual classroom's daily schedule includes the following:
Arrival and greetings
Group meeting - songs, finger plays, news for the day
Mealtime - self-help skills, table manners
Tooth brushing - personal hygiene
Choice time and small groups - planning, cooperation, independence, problem solving, fine motor development, cognitive (thinking)
Clean up (repeats throughout day) - cooperation, responsibility
Hand washing (repeats throughout day) - personal hygiene, self-help skills, independence
Mealtime - self-help skills, table manners
Group time - music and movement, sharing and recording ideas, cognitive
Outdoor choice time - large muscle activity choices, cognitive
Story time - language, literacy, and listening skill-building, cognitive
Closing and departures
The full-day program includes these additional activities:
Rest time - napping and quiet activities
Snack time - self-help skills, table manners
Group activity - reflect on day, cooperative activities, cognitive
Outdoor choice time - large muscle activity choices, cognitive
Choice time and small groups - limited choices/activities, cognitive
Early Head Start Daily Schedule:
6:00 - 8:00 a.m. Arrival
Breakfast
7:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon Enrichment activities: Gross motor activities, fine motor activities, outdoor activities and reading
12:00 noon - 1:00 p.m. Lunch and prepare for nap

Being Savvy Today
On My Own
We met up with my father for a weekend in Grayton Beach, Florida . It was too short as the girls don't see nearly enough of their grandparents, but we packed it full of fun. We spent our last day on the beach

Today's “Preschool’s Out” Activity
Trace around your child's foot, with shoe on, on a piece of white construction paper or card stock. Have child cut out the shoe print and add a spooky face. Glue it to a popsicle stick and you have a ghost stick puppet!
